Experienced, qualified editor
I am qualified and certified in editing and proofreading, and hold degrees to master’s level, enabling me to bring the highest standards of editing to your book.
One of the biggest causes of poor reviews is poor editing. Books containing errors in spelling, grammar and syntax are unlikely to achieve success, no matter how good the story is.
I offer different levels of editing based on your requirements. These range from simply proofreading for errors, up to a three-stage editorial process including forensic analysis of plot, structure, development, characters and readability.
Black Sheep Books is a division of Fossil Rock Publishing, an independent publishing company. As an experienced in-house editor, I can offer guidance on preparing your book for submission to publishers, or self-publishing.

Communication
Black Sheep Books is just a phone call away – it seems that many companies now make it impossible for you to contact them by phone. Sometimes it is so much easier to have a quick chat and bounce ideas back and forth, rather than try to get everything across in an email – which can actually take far longer and still be misconstrued. Whichever means of communication you prefer, I will respond quickly and I am just as happy to pick up the phone as to email or text (although instructions from you must be in writing). I believe it is important to work collaboratively to achieve the best results for your publication, and I am always happy to talk through the project as we progress.
